- We offer all of our patterns in three qualities of fabric. A hemp/organic cotton canvas, and hemp/silk satin and a matte silk/hemp blend.
- We employ organic cotton for the simple fact that cotton is one of the most heavily sprayed crops on the planet. A quarter of the entire world's stock of herbicides, pesticides and fungicides is sprayed on cotton. The use of these chemicals effects our environment as a whole (air, ground, water) as well as the health of the environment (homes) in which we live.
- We use hemp fiber because along with being a great renewable resource as well as reintroducing nutrients to–rather than depleting–the soil, it is also easy to convert into usable fibers, unlike many of its green counterparts, such as bamboo which requires massive amounts of water and chemicals to break down.
- Our fabrics are prepared for printing with hydrogen peroxide rather than its more caustic bleach counterpart.
- Our printing method reduces dye and water waste by roughly ninety percent. The dyes are water based and contain no heavy metals or ammonia. They are non-toxic and non-out-gassing.
- All of our textiles are printed to order. This enables us to offer our clients the flexibility to customize colourway, scale and pattern while reducing waste from overstock. We print our goods in the U.S.A. and are able to fulfill most orders within ten business days.
- All of these elements combined make a product that is low impact in terms of the environmental footprint as well as non-toxic and non-out-gassing.
- We offer to our clients tested alternatives for flame-proofing and stain guarding in order to empower them to make eco-friendly choices that meet their clients needs as well as commercial guidelines.
- We recommend an eco-friendly method of cleaning our textiles such as liquid CO2 or 'Green-Earth' which are rapidly replacing the standard petroleum based method of dry cleaning (perchloroethylene).
